I've migrated over here from there as well. It will be nice to be able to chat about the game without all the nastiness. :)

I went on the hunt today for a nice sim forum to use to get all the gossip about the upcoming game and make some friends, I first came across the ea sims 3 forum. It really bummed me out, the people were so rude! Lucky for me I found the link to this forum on there. :x3:

Welcome, Lyla! Yes, you definitely need an asbestos suit to spend much time over there.

I can understand them being angry over certain things not being in the base game but that is no reason at all to be so vile to people for simply liking what they see in the game. I'd like to think that the nasty name callers were just kiddies but unfortunately I think that is untrue. How sad.

It really is sad to see how bad it is on the EA TS3 forum. I've been lurking there for years and just can't stand it anymore. I remember when it was like this before TS3 came out, but I think it is worse now.

I don't want to hate on the game, but its hard when so much is missing, like look at the Willow Creek map.

Look at the size of the map, as you can see the number of lots in all is only 21 lots with only 5 community lots(library, park, gym, bar, maybe another park?)and the 13 home lots and 3 empty lots.

how can a world this size be acceptable , I think most sim players hate on the game( or just disappointed) with the game and this is because they want ea to know that they cannot sell a game with so little content in it so that ea can sell the content stuff in EP/SP and DLC to make even more money but that content should be in the base game. But the hate need to happen for ea to know that the players are not happy look at simcity people hated on the game being online only and ea patch the game offline mode in for free.

I think Willow Creek looks just fine, and there will be another world included as well. I know it's not as big as people wanted but think about Bridgeport in Late Night when it was a lot bigger than other worlds at the time. Give it some time.

Well I for one am tired of all of the venom on that site. i only came here last night and have been active every since. I know that EA will bring back toddlers but pools? Maybe not, maybe they would enable sims to swim in those beautiful lakes we see in the pics and gameplay videos. But all of that has gotten out of hand and EA should be paying closer attention to those forums to point out those who are starting the commotion in the first place. The fact that your freedom of speech is stripped from you by such negativity results in so many other users taking the liberty to moving here to talk about the good of the sims 4 instead of the bad. The Pro's of this game outweighs the cons, so why those people would just sit and make a huge commotion over literally nothing is beyond me. And these are people way beyond the age they act, we're talking about people who range in their 20's acting so childish over a GAME! freaking game!

We I see what you say but people are missing key words, BASE GAME. this is only a base game so of course they wouldn't add anything big on a base game. I really think about this in the best way possible, they can't add but so much to a world or it would be too much to process. And now that I think about it the sims 3 worlds weren't even that big either, just lots scattered around made it look like it was big, and most of them were residential. But in the sims 4 theres more opportunity, two worlds! so think about those two worlds with combined space, bigggggg worrllld more lots, more opportunity. I think there is only that amount because it would be too much of a process to make it a really big world, they have to populate that world, and in the sims 3 you would barely see sims in a community lot because the world was so big. I think this world being set up the way it is is actually pretty cute, its a good size for a well populated community. and you never know, every lot offers a great thing to do, and no rabbit holes! HOORRAAHH

The map is big enough for me as it is plus I love the new neighbourhood system. The only thing I didn't like was the no toddlers but honestly it doesn't bother me really just something I'll miss (until they add it in which I'm sure they will). Moan about what the game lacks all you want but don't go into threads about the positives and then be rude and plain pathetic to those who have something pleasant to say about the game. EA isn't going to listen to a bunch of brats. :inpain:

That's only one reason people are disappointed but it doesn't bother a lot of people at all because of the possibilites that could happen when updates and patches come out. This is just a base layer, I don't think of the bad in this game because the pros are definitely winning over the cons. But whatever you do don't go back to the sims 3 forums, so many people giving false info over things being taken out, so far i think only 10 things are out but people are just like wow, saying 50+ things are out, which is not true

Not to be too negative but sims 3 worlds have 190+ lots vs only 21 lots and Oasis Springs isn't much better than Willow Creek (as you can see in the picture still only 21 lots) and the sims 3 did have two world when it came out. Don't get me wrong its nice knowing that some people will be happy with the sims 4, there are some good thing like buy mode and being able to more a room and a house so easy look good and the art style, I think the sims 4 would of been the best sims game but sadly there to much missing for that ever to happen now. :/

Riverview wasn't included with the base game if that's the second world you are referring to. And yes, there were a lot of lots but many of them were rabbit holes anyway, so who needs those? And when you can travel between worlds in a save game, I don't think it's not too much of a problem having less lots in each world. And TS4 will be the best game yet!

    First, welcome aboard.

I understand how your logic is working regarding not buying the game, etc. It's the best way to make a company listen--reduced sales will definitely get their attention. Unfortunately for some, EA hasn't reached that point with TS4 yet or there wouldn't be as many people excited about it as there are. Fortunately for the rest of us, we can sympathize with your disappointment but we aren't required to support your opinion on the matter or even try to help you accomplish your goal of "teaching EA a lesson."

With that said, I think both worlds look like small towns and, frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I was thrilled with the concept of TS3's open world and frustrated as hell by its execution. Constant lagging issues, lengthy renders for every lot, rabbit holes that were mildly amusing but mostly pointless. I don't actually care what caused the issues; I'm just concerned that they're fixed. And I'm betting on it, based on the information I've read through and the videos I've seen. I'm also betting that the 23 to 25 lots I see in those base game maps will provide me plenty of entertainment value (maybe as much as TS3 with additional worlds) and that, since they're promising they've redone the foundation of the game to be more stable, adding new worlds, venues, and neighborhoods will be a lot smoother and more functional than it ever was in TS3.
