Ain't that nice. Your sim can be "stolen".

First of all I love CAS and the new feature showing who is the original creator and all. But ofcourse there are some sneaky simmers who know how to get rid of it, ain't that nice? Well there goes this nice feature.

Anyway this happened to me and some other simmers.
It's the same sim. Just a different haircolor and the sim is wearing different clothes. Traits and names still the same.

Yep, this is why I haven't posted any of my sims to the gallery.

Also, take into consideration the dates as well as the number of likes. People will only then see the difference.

I'm really sorry this happened to you. How sucky, especially knowing that someone specifically went to take your name off. I don't know why people do things like this.

Yeah, I saw a post on the official forum where somebody was complaining that they took a sim they liked and used it as a "template" for their own sim. Then when they tried to load it back to the exchange? How dare it try to credit the original creator.

The person was livid and people tried to tell them that what they were doing was stealing and they refused to see that because it was "a template."

No, fool! It's stealing!

Some people.....sheesh.

There needs to be a way to set this to where you only share with your friends. Till this is figured out? I won't be sharing anything I make.

There are a bunch of bugs with the gallery. For instance, I reformatted my hard drive yesterday. Before I did it, I moved my entire Sims 4 folder to an external hard drive so I wouldn't have to redownload the Sims. Re-installed everything, got the demo back, waited for the folder to regenerate. Copied the Sims to the "tray" folder. Launched the demo, went to the gallery and....

SHOCK!

All the Sims I had downloaded now say created by "you". I had to delete ALL OF THEM. Go back to the people I am following and redownload everything because I'm no theif although the game would make me look like one since it stripped the originator right off the Sims.

I was thinking about this happening the other day. I really think they should give us the option when we post stuff to the gallery to make it downloadable only. I think we should get the option of not allowing our stuff to be reposted. They could "watermark" our sims/houses etc so that if our name is on it, then only our account is allowed to change it and repost it.

I hate this already because this is the first time in the Sims series where I feel like I can truly be creative and make stuff thanks to the new tools. I was never that skilled in making sims or building before and I'm far from being artistically gifted, but the new CAS has really given me confidence to make sims that I at least am liking (and kind of growing fond of too). To then have your creation basically stolen is a huge oversight on the developer's part and kind of a let down.

Well, this only deflates my hopes even more knowing how easy it would be for somebody to just wipe the creator from the file and then repost it.

Wow this is some really disrespectful stuff and lazy too cause they can't make their own they have to take someone else's work..This makes me wanna remove all mine now lol...I mean I had downloaded Nikki Manaj "lol Im sure I spelt the last name wrong" and all I did to change her was her hair style and clothing but the original person is still there but I didn't put it in the gallery I kept for my own collection for when the Sim games are here but if people are doing that its sooo wrong I love yours addicted you put in so much time that really suxs....People should at least leave the original creator cause they know damn well they didn't make it smh....Guess Ill keep mine for me that's just crazy ....PS YOURS LOOKS WAY BETTER

Yeah just left origin...I'm keeping my Sims for myself for now ..I had no idea you could erase the original person I checked the ones I did modify and it will say by " whoever" and modified by you ..which in my case is me but ..I don't know how they can remove the original maker...Ex: Fashions sim had 1562 downloads and over 300 likes...did they think they would get that info too? I just don't see why they would need to remove the orignal maker of the sim just makes no sense but than people will do what they will or can...I agree with what vegasimguy said...I use to always put stuff in the gallery in Sims 2 and 3 and would do it in 4 but now I'm not to sure...Imagine if I build a home t and this happens I'll be pissed for me its not about likes or how many downloads I like others just like putting our creations out there...Why somebody always have to ruin it ...smh

I think the person was trying to get the same succes.. since the person kept the name the same. I don't know it's just totally stupid to do.

I am going through something like this right now, Someone took my Christina Aguilera and changed her clothes and put her back up. I got so mad that I commented on it. All I said was that she copied my work, I didnt say anything mean. I think I hurt her feelings and I dont think she did it intentionally but it got "denounce" and its not up anymore. I told her not to delete it because people liked hers better and she made her look good. Now I feel horrible and like the worst person in the world. I dont know what happened to the Christina but its not there anymore and I asked her on origin and she said it got deleted.
