1. Download ColorMagic
Unzip it in a folder anywhere on your hard drive.
2. Ditto with S4PE, which you can find here:
https://github.com/Sims4Group/Sims4Tools/releases
3. Start the application by double-clicking ColorMagic.exe. Click Next.
4. You’ll see the Setup page:
You only need to fill in the information on this page once.
- Click the Select Package button, and navigate to CASDemoFullBuild.package… probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 Create A Sim Demo\Data\Client.
- Type in your “Creator Identity”. This will be prefixed to your package names, and used as part of the unique ID generated for each package. Using a unique Creator Identity will prevent your CC from conflicting with CC by other creators.
5. Click Next.
6. You’ll see the Item Selection screen:
- This screen has some filters and a search field to help you find the item you’re looking for. Pick a category from the dropdown and click Filter, and/or type some characters in the Search field.
- Select an item from the list. You’ll see some information about the item you’ve selected, including its texture, its swatch and swatch type, and some more technical info about the CASP resource. (Color and other filter info is still being worked on.)
7. Click Next. You’re at the final screen.

- Your item will be given a default name, which you can edit; this will be the name of the generated package AND used as the unique identifier for your item in-game, so make sure it’s something unique.
- Color Code does not currently do anything for most items, but if you’re making hair you can choose a hair color. (Functionality is in progress.)
- In Color Swatch, you can choose up to 3 colors for the color swatch that will show in-game for your item. If the item has a custom swatch, you can edit it in S4PE after the package is created (currently you can’t set a swatch from this dialog).
When you’re done, click Finish. Color Magic will create your package!
