I think it's more along the lines as it isn't a shiny new toy anymore, at least that's how it usually is for me.

Oh I thought it had already released. Maybe not.

But yeah I haven't played Simcity in a while either. It kinda got dull, and at times stuff didn't work right. I woudl have police coverage in my whole city, well why is the crime rate up the ass?

Or a building is on fire. Well why is the fire trucks taking the long route? When there is no one on the road that it is shortest to? Maybe they got that stuff fixed by now.

They've fixed a lot of bugs, I didn't get it 'till most of them were fixed.

I came by this video of a fellow gamer re-reviewing Simcity 5 since it has been a year. I thought it might be interesting to those who have yet to purchase it and are on the fence about it.

This game looks a lot different now that I am seeing it in the video. I am going to have to replay it. I do kinda miss the game.

Me too, my brother and I recently started playing it again. I do wish they eventually make larger cities available.

I do believe I will be purchasing the Sim City soon............................

Two hated, online features die today!

It’s a double victory for gamers today: two controversial online “features” (for want of a better term) are both officially dead as of today. Maxis today released update 10 for SimCity, which makes the entire game playable offline once you’ve installed the patch. That patch will be automatically downloaded via Origin; once it is you can play single-player cities offline, and all saves will be stored on your PC.

Secondly, Diablo III’s controversial Real Money Auction House gets it switch flipped today. While you’ll still be able to access the RMAH, no further items can be put up for auction. Current auctions are still active, but once they all end, the feature will be removed and all items and gold will be distributed accordingly. Essentially, the Auction House is dead as of today.

I stopped playing Diablo III quite a while ago but I'm still curious...why did they kill the RMAH?

I played some SimCIty games, for me the best is SimCity4, SimCIty Society i did not even buy, SimCity 5 could be the second best SimCIty by now if the cities were not so tiny and there was terrain edition, the soundtrack can make it boring after some time but it is somewhat relaxing. I can see why SC fans hated it but i personaly dont think i would get as nearly as disapointed if i was in their situation, as i got with TS3.

I've been playing the Sim City since the C64 (showing my agere here!) and have played each version of it. In fact, the main hook when The Sims was first launched was that is was described to us as being able to interact with the people who lived in the cities we create (and in fact, you could import maps from one of the Sim City games into The Sims and link the two that way). It was amazing fun.

I did buy the latest version and was sorely disappointed by it. Compared to previous versions, the regions here were tiny, there was little in the way of customization for your maps and the different zones were broken and/or not working together. It was extremely bug ridden (things like fire and police not working in your city causing you to have to restart) and there was no offline mode.

Having said this, each patch they release polishes the game more and more. I still believe some of the pervious versions outshine the new one, though I certainly wouldn't overlook it now with the improvements that have been made.

Sounds like EA confirmed that they cant add bigger cities, well, it also sounds like EA abandonned SimCity as far as it looks like they aded old SC games on origin to compesate for the lack of profit on SC 2013 alone. Looks like SC 2013 will stick with only one EP like TSM and Spore.

Only unlike Simcity, TSM and Spore are still enjoyable ^_^

Oh Simcity to be single player, eh? Maybe will have a little taster.

SimCity buildings are nice and the game is somewhat enjoyable (Not as much as TSM or SPore) but the city size totally ruins it the same way that goal-oriented gameplay ruins TSM, Spore trough is much better (personal opnion) than the other two together, probably because it was made by Will Wright, even trough the game is basically dead by now.

As i said earlier, if SC 2013 did have terrain edition and big maps it would be probably the best SimCity ever, but no, they decided to reboot the series removing fundamental aspects and failed miserably....or at least it seens so.

On the other hand you can try out City Skylines. This is pretty much what me and many players expected SimCity 2013 to be and were disapointed. This new one on the other side sounds great, but i dont thing it has Godzillas or Aliens.

But SimCity buildit for phones is still great. Even trough they dumbed down the graphics in a recent patch, it is still a very good game and the performance has beign improved. But the Road upgrade system is sorta broken now.
