Create a Sim – Skills

So the past few days I've been trying to brainstorm things I'd personally like to see in The Sims 4. So excited for the new game, I think everything so far is great. I have nothing to complain about, excited to see what they have next. I'm grateful I'm ever able to play the game! Now I have a few personal ideas which I'd love to see in the games, but know it's very slim chance they will ever be included, it's really just for fun! Get us thinking and considering new ideas. So you might be seeing a few posts in the future with my ideas.

Anyway, let me start!

I would really love to be able to create a sim and be able to assign them skills in CAS. If I wanted a very artsy Sim, I could give them the look and then the skills to match it without having to go through all the hard work of having to gain those skills throughout gameplay.

I don’t think this would appeal to many people, as I think some people actually like gaining their Sims skills throughout their life, and think it's actually the whole point of the game - but for me, I get frustrated when I create a Sim, move them into a house and they have NO cooking skills. If I have a family the first thing I do is get the mum reading cooking books so she can make meals for the family, otherwise what will they do, eat burnt pancakes?! I want all my Sims to be able to cook, in every household and having to gain cooking skills with each and every Sims is awfully annoying and time consuming.

Perhaps they could give us a maximum of 10 skill points per Sims? Meaning we can only assign Sims a total amount of 10 points throughout their “Skills”. So I could give a Sim two (2) points in art, three (3) points in cooking, one (1) point in gardening and four (4) points in writing.

Of course if we didn't want to, you wouldn't have to assign any points to any skills, so you could carry on with the traditional way of playing Sims.

Hmm. I guess if we got to option to add just 1 or 2 maybe. I can see what you are getting at though. Day 1 sim trying to bake waffles - burnt.

I wish traits came with a start lvl 1 of a skill. Lets say robby sim has the foodie trait, He already is a lvl one in the cooking skill when given that trait

Or they get the perk of being at 80% relationshp with the pizza delivery guy :3

Oh yes! I would send Mortimer back into cas & give him a level 10 in cooking...
I still don't trust him since TS1..(He was making breakfast then he killed himself & the whole house...i was 10 years old...the horror of my life O_O )

Omg similar. I was cooking something with Bella and then Bella and Mortimer died in a fire leaving Cassandra alone T_T
Sims 2 would have been so tragic.

Bella in my game always managed to avoid death in every little way...the fire would get so close to her then all of a sudden it would just...*run away*

Don't know about you but i think that fire had some major fashion sense!
