Would you rather have pools or toddlers?

Anything is possible since there are many smartest mods and artists out there that will able to create a fake 3D toddlers by using Maya or 3ds Max then add couple of animation for Sims to carry, feed and put them/pick them up. Very basic. I mean anything is POSSIBLE. But you don't sound very excited about Sims 4, are you?

It depends. If toddlers are going to be anything like Sims 3 ones, I would just age them up anyways and vote for pools. But if toddlers were improved on and if pools didn't come much with anything in base game, I would vote toddlers. In ideal sims world, we would have both, but I can understand why they waiting and not having them in base game. Sims 2 didn't have like young adults in base and Sims 3 didn't have a lot things in base game. I get that things are complex and that a base game is just that, the base. It's the expansions that people really care about. I rather that both aren't half done and lame.

Can't say i'm fussed to be honest, i can still do what i want to do without them

Though I'll obviously miss both, I'm not really phased by either being absent from the base game. My Sims don't swim much (except for my astronaut Shane and my son's doctor Sim Demario who has rockin' pool parties all the time ) and playing toddlers stresses me out because I have an uncontrollable obsession to always make them learn everything. Marathon reading all those books at the library isn't easy but we only accept perfection!

That will likely screw-up animations.

I think it is more realistic to make EA insert a pre-teen Lifestage to compesate for larger teens (Wich at this point is the lesser of the cuts in my opnion) than expect the poor modders and maybe even EA devs to shrink Teens at this point. At least i am glad none of the lifestages are horrendous like in TS3.

I 've never seen any custom lifestage in my entire simmer life. But i know that they can upgrade and tweak official lifestages, even babies. Maybe with time they can tweak babies thenselves to resemble Toddlers gameplay-wise.

Dont get me wrong, i dont want to be a downer and i like your positiveness but i think you are expecting too much from the Modding community, they dont make miracles.

I guess you never saw bunch of dolls, different animals, objects that base on teddy bear? Check at TSR or other websites. There are bunch of dolls or other toys for child to play with. So they maybe will able to use a baby toy for adults for people who wants to have toddlers (pretended toy baby). Plus... Do you know there were lots of sliders for Sims to change the whole appearance such as big noses, wide shoulders, shorter legs, taller, dwarf, flatter neck, etc...? Cuz Mods are so damn smart. They are doing like that.... all kind of different things they were modding at anything since sims 1. I said... Yes to anything is possible.

Yes, i saw em all, i am aware of the work of modding community as i am an avid CC* downloader. But one thing is to create a re-mesh of a toy and other is to change the heigh of sims and expect everything to be fine. Yes, there is a custom slider for heigh and even size in TS3 but that mess up animations because the animations are made to fit an specific heigh and body configuration.

So imagine this - you have a normal sized girl and two guys, one was made taller with the mod, the other was made shorter with the mod. In normal heigh the girl would kiss one of then in the mouth as the animation was designed to, but now, she will kiss the tall guy in his neck wille he kiss the air, wille with the short guy she will likely be kissing air and he will likely beign kissing her...er..boobs...see the problem here?

If you make a sim too high large, is likely that he will "pass-trough" many objects and if you make him too small, some animations may distort it, i know, because there was a cheat code for it in Thesims2. Yes the modder are darn smart, but there are certain things that to be done porpelly have to be designed by EA devs thenselves. Things like that are How much lively or robotic sims are, the heigh of sims, lifestages, lifestates, the world beign open or close etc.

So...not everything is possible..the modders can not make sims3 sims intersting for example...or give open world to Thesims2...but they Do make a lot of stuff, not everything but a lot of stuff, but i dont want to be depending on the modding community, you know, modthesims forum seens as much as positive as Thesims3 forum and Nraas already stated to not beign modding for TS4....so the future is not clear for TS4 mods...

I guess it was your issue, not mine. I never had a problem with this game. I guess I'm lucky!
People are doing it since Sims 1. Like I said... "Anything is possible." Always. Plus I have a faith and believe in them for making / tweaking to improve the game better everyday!
