Game crashing

So I downloaded and installed the game from Origin last night, played happily on it for about 3 hours. It worked great.
Went to play on it this afternoon and I needed to install the Patch, did that and went to play the game. 30mins in the game crashed. I tried again, the exact same thing happened. I've kept trying and the frequency of crash time has increased. It only worked for 5 minutes the last time I tried.
I am NOT impressed or happy. Having paid such a ridiculous amount for this game I would expect it to actually work.

I wonder if your computer isn't overheating. The pattern of crashing makes it sound like it might be.

It's a brand new laptop, bought specifically to play this game on. There is absolutely no valid reason as to why it should just stop working. I've no idea what to try

That is peculiar. I wonder if anybody else has this problem after the patch. This is a dumb question, but did you try restarting the computer?

Yep. My husbands having a mess about with it now to see if he can find anything. It's just irritating because I really liked the look of the game when I played it last night and was looking forward to playing it today.

Mine's been freezing/crashing at a quicker rate over the last 2 days. It was a few hours apart before but now it seems after not even 30 minutes it crashes? I don't understand why. I take it off of online mode and it used to help but not so much now. And it's not the computer the one I'm running on is more then capable.
