Sims 4 hair & haircuts

One thing that bothered me was that the hair wasnt moving and at times looked plastic but nonetheless i really liked some of the hairstyles that came with the sims 3. What kind of improvements are you hoping for? and do you have a personal favorite haircut that you want (or to return) in the sims 4?

I think how fake it looks varies on the specific content, and no I'm not hoping for specific hairs to return, base game hairs were almost always terrible in TS2 and 3. I really know use hairs from custom content.

I agree with you, I think late night had the best hair from all expansion packs.., what I really want to see this time around is long hair, I don't think they had any decent long hairstyles.

i have a few faves that i tend to choose instinctually but i make an effort to not have all of my sims look alike. i refuse to use the justin bieber one lol. it'd be nice if sims "of color" had more hair options.

in all my years of playing, i've never used any custom content. where do you guys find them (other than the exchange)?

I did exactly the same but my sims usually turned up looking the same. So I went and choose a hairstyle that I didn't like that much :/ lol, by the way the base games male hair wasn't that good either, or is it only me? I always ended up like using the same 2 hairstyles

Maybe if they change the style of the graphics it will get better what I hate the most is that the hair didn't lie nicely on the sim body.

Yeah, the long hair that we had was really strange looking... I don't want to know what things could have been hidden under that weave lol

I'm always for more content. I really dislike using custom content because it tends to glitch my game and makes it lag so much I cannot even play on the machine I have.

The stock hairstyles have gotten better, but I would like more long styles and as stated, I'd like them to have better movement. I also want more styles for men, as many of them are too similar...and more ethnic styles.

I agree, males didn't really have any hairstyles, they tended to look the same. It kind of annoyed me :s lol. In the sims 4 I hope we get to choose which side the hair lays on and how long the tips could be etc. Hair dying could also be improved a lot I guess

I disagree, the stock hairstyles have gotten worse, I'd rather play with TS2 hairstyles not that those were much better.

Like you guys said I'd love the hair to move, it'd be awesome to see hair blowing in the wind, or even just moving as my sims move, like billowing out behind my sim when she runs.

I wonder if it would cause a lag though.

Moving hair on every sim would need more processing power and bump up the requirements for the game. Although I'd love to have such a thing, we can't have realistically moving hair without causing a frame drops.

Unless maybe they coded the game in a different way, I was told it is possible to have high quality graphics and less lags.

I agree with you guys that the hairstyles should be better. But however the hairstyles that they had weren't bad at all.

It's either having it or not having it at all. I'm not too sure... but i'm pretty sure that the Sims doesn't have any sort of physics engine and solely relies on animations. Real-time physics will increase the minimum requirements of the game regardless of how well you code it. It has a higher demand for processing power. I haven't actually seen really nice realistic hair that has been rendered by a 3D game engine that moves realistically... without it being a pre-rendered scene.

I'd be find with still hair if it meant no lags and reasonable loading times.
