Has anyone had their sims taken off the gallery?

My Lady Gaga was taken down and I am not sure why. She had over 2000 downloads and it irritates me! People are constantly re-uploading her so I just stopped caring about it and they took mine down? I don't get why. People are going to get credit for my work and mine isn't even up anymore.

It's possible that her legal team regularly scan the internet to take down unauthorized images of her. It's a publicity-rights thing. Some celebrities' people enforce it and others don't. I read elsewhere that someone's Leonardo DiCaprio disappeared from the Gallery.

Its ok, I was upset at first but now I am over it. Wouldn't they take down the others as well though?

True it happens I belong to an online game site and someone was making avatars that looked like famous people and they were told to remove them or there would be legal action taken. Its about using the image or likeness and getting permission to do so..I know they should be glad that someone took the time to make something to resemble them..but it does happen I also heard that Leonardo DiCaprio Sim was taken down...I would think they would let the person that created it know why it was taken down. I made Bruce Lee and I am thinking about removing him cause I don't want any problems. Or Change his name

The other Lady Gagas? They probably have to file paperwork for each one. Copyright infringement takedown notices work that way, at least.

Man, people will continue to upload these sims, not even EA has control over what appear and what doesn't appear on the gallery. The most EA could do is take down these celeb-sim look-alikes from public viewing. This whole copyright thing sounds like a complete mess.

Man, can't believe all of this happened. Now for some people that would want a celebrity the "easy" way they can't get it. But for the person who did the hard work they still get to keep it though, only one person happy, but if some downloaded it in time they are the few that are happy too. I think this goes into the fact of them saying and telling people that they want YOUR original creations and not just something that's been already seen and replicated in many game creation games in the past especially the Sims. I guess to have something fresh an new. I'm not on anyones side, I feel both have good points, for me naturally I didn't even think about creating iconic people in the Sims 4. But this may just go for people in REALITY that are famous rather then iconic fiction characters cause that's hard to pull off an it would just be a "realism" version and not really of how that person actually looks like. For me I just make my own unique Sims so in a way I'm kind of glad that I didn't do celebrities an put them on exchange cause I was already feeling my Sims may get taken down or not, I don't why just reasons I have, a sense of paranoia I always wear on my sleeve from time to time but not all the time, Lol. But still I feel sorry to anyone who had their creation stolen and gotten their stuff taken down, just cause of the hard work and then how the person may feel but yeah. <3

It's pretty standard stuff for any user-contributed site that stuff sometimes gets taken down in response to reports of infringement of rights (copy right, personality rights, etc.). The onus is on the person being infringed to report the infringement and be able to document it; site owners are used to getting the reports and responding to them. The problem for the celebrities' reps is deciding how far to pursue things -- pursue them too far by issuing notices on everything, and you could be alienating fans and losing good PR possibilities; don't pursue them enough and you could lose out in important court cases later when you try to get money off someone who's infringing and earning lots of cash off of it. The fact that there've been very few celebrities removed from the Gallery so far suggests that most celebrities' people these days are taking the risk of losing out later rather than alienating fans now. And EA doesn't seem to be taking any action at all against people who are posting the celeb photos they take down, so I wouldn't worry about. Not that I'll post any; my attempts haven't been good enough to save even to my own Library!

At first I was so mad lol but I dont really care to much anymore. Honestly when the game comes out, I will probably never make a celebrity again because I dont play with them. I will probably upload a few houses here and there and maybe a household every once in awhile but I have never been that much into uploading my creations... except when this demo came out lol. I am pretty sure that when the game comes out the uploading will be more rare lol

I plan on making families, and then making houses that caters towards that families interests, etc. Then I may or may not put them up on the gallery.

You should put your family homes on the gallery. Or take pictures and post them on here so I can see them.

Sorry to hear that OP and it is odd that the sim has been removed. I`ve made my simself, two twitter friends, and my Saints Row 3 and 4 lady character and yet, none have been removed.

I just looked to see if maybe they had put Lady Gaga back up and Handsome Hank is gone now too and I don't believe he is a Celebrity..

This bums me out. You, addicted, and phantom are some of my favorite sim makers for sims 4. They shouldn't take away your awesome creations

I don't know if it is true, but I heard that any sim that gets flagged is automatically pulled, at least temporarily.

I have tested this out. When I reported someone it disappeared right away so I decided to use the demo on my bfs account to see if it was gone or if it was just hiding from me. It was still in the gallery but I just couldnt see it. Eventually it was gone completely after about a day. I want my gaga back but I am not as upset as I thought I would be lol it just isnt a big deal to me I guess?

Awww! You're so sweet! lol I asked her on origin if she took it down. I hope it was her because then it might be something wrong with the gallery? I know when the demo was first given to me it was to be tested.. but its not anymore right?
