Collecting Fossils

Does anyone know how my sim is supposed to find and then "dig on special rocks" to collect a new fossil? I've clicked on every rock I could find but there were no interactions. She's a collector but I don't know how to get her to collect anything. Thanks in advance!

Update.... I've started finding the fossils, so for anyone else having problems. Look on the ground in the "brown" areas around the edge of the town, where the really big boulders are. You are looking for little odd shaped rocks, they are kind of like little boxes and usually there are two sitting really close together, maybe only a step or two apart. Once you find one you won't have any more trouble locating them. I haven't found any in any other place (green areas) but maybe they are around and I just haven't seen them yet. I hope this helps!

I am having the SAME problem. I've gone to both towns, every lot, clicking dig and find treasure once I get the maps. 0 fossils found.

This is crazy! My sims finds a fossil almost every day and she's not even a collector. I have her living in the empty lot in the cheap neighborhood in willow creek (is that what it is called? I always forget.) There are two rock/gem looking things that pop up right outside her yard by the river. One of them almost always contains a fossil.

So are you seeing something above the ground then send her to dig there or do you just click on the ground and she finds these things?

So I just logged in again (for the first time today) and BOOM I have "fossil rocks" in my sims inventory. You click and "extract fossils". They weren't there last night strangely enough. Possible bug?

So did you find any around the town too or just in your sims inventory? That's odd that they just showed up without you putting them there. I haven't had time to play today so I'll have to have a look.

They were just in my sims personal inventory. Surprises are fun. lol
