My dad was gifted this box of all kinds of sims games, (sims deluxe, sims online, sims theme park, and sim city 2000) but these kinds of games just aren't his style he's more into the war shoot em up games. They ended up collecting dust till I installed a few and started playing. I bounced around between all of the games, I think I was about 7 at the time.

I lived around with people a lot from the ages 12-18. I wasn't in school (of course my mom got fined for it until I was 16 and old enough to drop out but I didn't know because I didn't speak to her much.) So I had much more time on my hands than the average pre-teen/teenager. One friend I was living with had an older sister who had Sims 2 and that's how it started. I was 12-13 then. I didn't play for a long time after moving out of her place because living around didn't leave me much room to bring belongings around or hold onto anything, I didn't own much lol. But living with different people introduced me to a lot of different games. XD My home life became stable and I went back, but went into a deep depression thing. So Sims 3 came out and it was definitely like therapy for me. I loved making families and making a lot of goals for them, etc.

I was first introduced to the sims early into TS1's life (I forget the exact year, but I think only the livin' large expansion was out at that point). I was 8-10 years old and was at a family christmas party. My cousin was playing the game and and all my other cousins were amazed with it (I in particular became instantaneously attached to it in a way that very very few games have been able to do). Some time shortly after I got it as a gift from my parents which started many, many happy years of me and my younger sister sitting together at the computer taking turns playing our different sim families.

I just realized that maybe this is why I never enjoyed TS3 (and 4) as much as the first two...I don't have my sister sitting here with me to talk to :(

    ...well...now I'm just bummed out...

edit* Now I'm sitting here having a morality crisis/guilt trip about how I moved away from my family to attend college and never really speak to them anymore -_-

I was 11 years old and had just come out of a horrific experience in hospital over Christmas for about three weeks, which left me quite unable to walk more than twenty metres at a time because of my deteriorating muscles, and I couldn't climb a flight of stairs without needing to sit down because my lung capacity was at 30%. I had lots of issues with my skin, and retreated into myself for a long period after.
I had expressed a lot of interest in getting The Sims 3 while I was on holidays with my family. We got back, I was celebrating my reduction of medication by walking around the shopping centre, and we saw it in Dick Smith - and there.

I started playing when the first Sims game was still new. I was 10 or 11 years old and my cousin's best friends (they were twins) had the game and were playing it. Their sim was cooking and the house caught on fire. Another sim was already eating and she sat her plate down on the ground and started screaming and pointing at the fire. After a minute she stopped reacting to the fire and she peed on the floor over the plate. That's when I knew I needed this game lol. I've been playing ever since.

I was around 8 or 9 when my older cousin first started playing The Sims 1, I wanted to be as cool as him of course! But he used to trick me my putting my sims in the pool and deleting the ladder! But he gave me some dodgy copy of the sims so never got to get properly into it. So I had The Sims on Playstation 2 along with The Urbz for a couple of years. Then around the age of 13 I got my first laptop, so my dad got me the whole sims 1 collection. I got really into it, especially loved the vacation ep. And then one day, it broke, after about a month. It just refused to open!! So my dad returned it and swapped for The Sims 2 which was only new at the time. And from then on I've always loved and collected all the sims 2 ep's. However sims 3 let me down, and I had only ever bought the main game. Even now with sims 4, I don't think it will ever be as good as the original first two editions. Maybe it's nostalgia or something, brings me back to my childhood.
