Realistic Sims 4 or Cartoony?

The title pretty much says it all :3 Personally i would like the sims 4 to be more realistic, but wouldn't really care if it was cartoony. The only thing I would worry about if they make them cartoony again is how the hair and clothes look. But i think that's only me lol
From the launched sims 4 picture it seems like they could be taking the cartoony-stylized road. Them saying that they are going back to the roots of the sims seems to back up the claim a little bit but it could also only mean that they are going back to the fun-flair that sims 2 and 1 had...
So.. what do you prefer and hope for ? realism or cartoony? :3

Persinally I've always thought that no matter how realistic the sim looked, they've always had a 'simlish' feel or vibe to them. I can't really explain it, but as long as they somehow still look like sims then I want them to be more realistic

I'd like it to be more realistic, but not too much.

I agree with plumdrop, I like it realistic but not to much.

In another thread, some people were discussing how it could get graphic or creepy if the sims were TOO realistic. I agree...the bit of cartoon-ish features keep the game light-hearted.

I see your point. I guess they would lose their sim kind of style, if they were to realistic and I have to agree it would look strange and creepy if they looked exactly like humans talking simlish and such lol I hope they find a nice middle ground between realistic and cartoony.

Maybe increase the definition of and tweak how their faces look.

I would like them to be a little more realistic, more like sims 2 sims, not the pudding faced sims 3 sims lol

I would not describe TS2 sims as realistic, they were very cartoony and none of the edges were smooth.

Haha yeah thats a bit too real and slightly creepy.

I like the way they are. When I'm building my house I want it to look kinda real like it is possible it could exist in real life. But the sims themselves i wouldn't want looking too real or too cartoony. I just want them to look like sims

I dont like the current style their heads something is off about them.

Its like they're super wide or something even when you adjust them to be narrow.

I think this one is a throwout and soon after will start development for the most realistic sims we've had. If Olympus is where they're headed, not many people will buy it, they'll just stick with 3.

Realism all the way. I loved the Sims Medieval-look of the sims and CAS. Hope they go that way.

This is a very interesting topic. My personal opinion is to have a balance between cartoony and realistic, what it would look like, I don't exactly know.......................
