wouldn't it be nice if we can choose how many days before aging up in every stage of sims life (ex. toddler, school age, teens, etc.) just like in the sims 3. I have this sim who started to make a family in his adult stage (which I always do so that sims can do some stuffs on their own on their young adult stage) and it ended him being an elder while his son is still in school age years.

Well, it is never that simple. There are features that can be inserted later and there are features that will only work if inserted from the or before the Get-Go, trough, I am not sure in wich of the two categories this features falls on since i dont even remember if it was a basegame feature or not, but i belive they can insert it since now i remember modders can make hacks that change lenght of lifespan.

I for one play sims they way they are and rarely activate aging apart from "Current Household", but i can see that to be quite annoying for players who prefer generational gameplay.

if they do that, the might as well pop toddlers into the game also. It would be nice, but I never played sims 3 so i dont know how jt works

Yeah, I wish we could set the amount of days, however, I just disable aging if I don't want them getting too old while their kids grow up or something, then turn it back on when I'm ready.
It's pretty easy that way because you can still age anyone up with a cake.

All you have to do is bake a cake or throw a birthday party :)
Then you can click on the cake and AGE UP a selected sim or have the sim you want to age up BLOW OUT CANDLES (or taste frosting, make a wish etc, there are multiple options if you want to use the cake more than once. If you're using the cake once just choose the age up or make a wish) and they will age up! :)
