AUTOSAVE PLEASE

I was playing TS3 and my wonderful 2 year old brother decides it's a FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL IDEA TO SHUT ALL OF THE BREAKERS OFF SO I LOSE ALL MY SIM DATA BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO SAVE REGULARLY BECAUSE MY GAME IS SO SLOW so yeah that screwed me over seeing as I had been playing for a good 2 hours

I dearly hope that in TS4 there will be some sort of autosave- maybe whenever we finish build/buy in our Sims' homes or after we finish editing the town or whatever, and also after every hour or so of gameplay? And we should be able to change the options too, like if we want it to autosave every 30 minutes, 2 hours, etc.

now excuse me as I go scream into a pillow because whOOPS THERE GOES ALL MY HARD WORK yeah I'm not too happy right now

I hope for this too, but the only fault I can think of is what if you don't want to save, for example your sim dies and you don't want them to.

When a game has auto-save, there is always an option to turn it off for those that would like more control in their game.

I agree that it would be fantastic if this were a feature. However, the game has so much information to save...the whole world is often effected by the things your sim does. So I'm curious if it would even be possible at this point while keeping system requirements down.

But that moment where you have made lots of progress and you have it turned on but then your sim dies and it's saved.

Yeah that's a huge slap in the face feeling. But at the same time, for me, it's all part of the game. I like the unpredictability.

Very true, as long as it doesn't crash then all is fine.

I fully support this idea. It also happened to me sometimes, but it would be nice if the saving times were shorter. I a lot of the time didn't save right away, it froze or crashed sometimes because of the long saving time.

I don't think I've had my game crash because of long save times, but I have randomly while I was building or something like that.

OH WAIT. I thought of an alternative thing. You know how in TS3, if you go under My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves you have those folders of your game saves and then there's the backup folder? What if the game were to just update the backup folder more often? Then if we lose power while playing, we can always do that thing where you like rename it and stuff and it becomes your game again ^-^

Or we could manually do it ourselves..

You can manually update the backup folder? o_o

Yeah just copy the contents in another folder labeled something like "sims 3 backup" but don't forget to date it or where you put that folder.

Haha iAuto save wouldn't be any good for me for that exact reason lol, my sim's are forever killing themselves -.-

They are a lot harder to kill in TS3 though compared to TS2 and TS1. I wonder how death will be in TS4.

Just the other day I decided to try and make my first house, it wasn't amazing but I was super proud of it and it took me FOREVER to build. Just as I was working on my landscaping it crashed. I was so devastated. I really wish I had autosave then lol. So yea, I think it would be a great idea!

I can't count the times my rage quitted sims because of this, so infuriating.

I actually thought about this yesterday, when I was relaxed playing and then poof... The game shut down for no reason --, Autosave would be a great thing for this one

Also whenever someone skypes it me it suddenly closes but the game is still running and I can bring it back up, just for that mini heart attack.

At least it didn't randomly shut down... Mine just think "what about a prank?" and bye bye unsaved awesome house --,

YES!! I want autosave!! I will be playing my game and sometimes I forget to save my game, soooo... sometimes my game will crash and all my data is gone! Like WTF! ( that says what the freak, What were you thinking XD JK ) Seriously why cant they have autosave? I hope they have it in Sims4
