Would a Petition work to put the Contest date back where it was?

So you all probably know that the contest date was pushed to December 25th. Cupcakes and Chris have every right in the world to do this. However as the community we have every right to be upset about it and to speak up. What is a forum without a community anyways?​

So what if majority of the active members wanted the date put back where it was? Or at least within a week or something reasonable? I personally think we should let our voices be heard and if not we'll see what happens. ​

Well, as one of the most actives, I understand Cupcakes' and Chris' motives for delaying the contest...
However, 6 months is a bit much for something that only had 1 month to be finished.. I'd be fine with pushing it to 1 month and the standard one week after it's finished...
Unless they have other reasons besides the new members issue...

Well the biggest issue I have with it is that the reason's given in the post that notified us are completely absurd, the new users that sign up don't even participate, at least not 'till it counts. What good would pushing it back do? Even with the must register by November 25th thing those users will just only be active when it counts.

I think the better way of doing this is having something like "finals"... They pick up about 30 actives and then decide from them... If until november there are like 500 actives it will be much more difficult to decide...
But that's just what I think...

I personally didn't join the forum only for the laptop, but I don't think it's right to extend the contest to December. That's really a long time from now... and more and more people are probably going to join, since this IS titled "Sims 4 Forum" and Sims 4 is expected to come out soon after that. (Supposedly.) That makes less chances for the most active members who really were dedicated to the forum and contest. I wouldn't mind the method that Annie stated, either.

I have no idea it's under settings to change the title I thought everyone could.

No, the point I've been trying to get across is my trust has been broken. It was already unrealistic to have such a flashy cool laptop and then to push the date back for months? That's a bit sketchy.

I didn't join just for the laptop, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't fuel me to be a part of the community. Like I said when I first joined, I've never been part if a forum before properly, and I to be honest I wouldn't stick around posting everyday until December just for my chances of winning to be decreased.
I think there are more than enough actives on here for a good competition and it's been proven already that there are more than enough actives to keep the forum flowing.
If you're pushing the deadline to get more members I think it will kill the forum and you'd have no actives until November.
Why not push the deadline another fortnight but don't allow any more new members after yesterday enter?

I for once won't leave... I've been here since before the contest began, as you well know I love being part of this community, it's just that 6 months seems waaay to long... But I kind of like the Christmas present thing xD

The first reason that I joined this forum for was because of the laptop and the games, but when I started taking a look to this forum I actually started liking it, so I decided to stick around after the contest ended and that is what I am going to do. I do kind of understund the pushing foward of the date of this contest, but I don't understand why 6 months, maybe two weeks or something like that, although they have all the right to do that(quote from Lame Cakes). I personally think the same thing as everyone, that the people are just going to join and leave right after the contest ends.

I don't think that they did a great choice with this contest.

It had been said more competitions would be to follow if the whole thing is about close the TS4 release date and a christmas present why not release another contest.
