which is better?

The sims 2 or 3?

I think both are equal, for different reasons, however I will choose TS3 because of the customization tool.

I have such good memories of Sims 2. I could never try to play it again, it'll just spoil those memories and make me realize how tight that game really was. (you couldn't choose styles for one thing). One thing I really miss is the vacation spots and the business EP's. And how the apartments worked, now THAT'S how to do it EA.

Apples or oranges? Which is better?
The Sims 3 has all new customization options and hair and clothing, but got all of the expansion content from the previous game.(Which deserves some sort of credit.)
The Sims 2, on the other hand is so original and had a helicopter. I'd prefer The Sims 2 to play, but The Sims 3 is better.

I prefer The sims 2, after buing all eps and accesories and adding my and other fans cc to the game I have to say that this game is much more fun to play with than sims 3. Jut look at some machimina created with sims 2. Ok it didn't have an open world but still if you worked on it you could create great game for yourself. Sims 3 even after putting in some of mods or cc doesn't have this ''vibe''.

Sims 2 has better animations than sims 3 but content in sims 2 is really annoying because you can only switch the way they look only by a little. Sims in sims 2 look alot better because their heads are the focus point and the body looks always the same but with a realistic way of looking and in sims 3 sims are always a bit chubby because eventhough we have body sliders, sims look always chubby, or anorexic andtheir heads are always bit round.Making machinama I found sims 2 as a better game to film stuff because the amount of custom content is alot and the quality is good if you know where to look and it's easy to download. In sims 3 it's alot harder, alot of the content used sims 3 is made for sims 2 like some peggy hairs, rose sims hair, which are meant for sims 2 not sim which don't look good on sims. so in general, sims 3is more fun to play because of the open world and possibilities but sims 2 is better with custom content and meant for film makers, so sims 3 users, try finding custom content tha isn't converted from sims 2 or enjoy the game witout it. Sims 2 users, practise film making, get tons of custom content(I have 10 gigabites) get a good editing tool, and become the best at filming in your own area that could be, Fantasy, teen story, teen pregnancy, music videos, meps, vampire storys, or my area which is everything that I just wrote and I recommend not to do that becaue yo'll then have a 30 season long series.

Just like I said in another thread:
TS3 has better graphics, but TS2 is epic and I enjoy it more! TS3 expansions are awful but TS2's are awesome.

Really? the only thing about the graphics in TS3 I like is that they're smoother.

Exactly! & We'd be the same when TS4 has kicked off with a couple of EP's & we'd look back on TS3 as a oldie, some more than others but i would look back on it with joy ^^

Yes, they will. That's what people do. They will miss everything they had in TS3. Starting over from scratch is never easy. It will suck at first. With no mods; No CAst, (but they had better put in a color wheel), no weather, no pets, and the hair resembles an 'entirely plastic' doll. Naturally, the base game is going to be fairly bare. So of course people will complain that it sucks. Lol

I prefer the Sims 3 now, but until Seasons came out, I continued to play the Sims 2. I must have weather, and I will probably do the same thing this time too.

This is what confuses me, if one person dislikes what TS3 is why not just continue to have fun in TS2? No on is forcing them to play TS3, EA is not telling them to go & buy it just like that. I can't really compare PC Sims but i have experience colour changing in clothes since TS1, i was quite surprised when i was told that PC didn't have it

Well, i agree to disagree that the sims are smarter, they are not, they may be easier to take care off but the A.I is horrible and the freewill is awfull. Honestly, even trough we dont play a game as a customer and a sim fan , everyone has the right to complain over a product that they didnt like, if you like it anyway because it is sims, then you should not even care for those duing it so, off course, you have the right to like it, but it would be a lie to say that the sims are smarter, they are not.
