I find it a bit of letdown how they got rid of the anoying rabitholes in TS3 basegame but did not use the space to introduce open clothing stores and groceries from TS2 basegame.

I don't know how to feel about this. To me the grocery store was pointless. I never got a message that said, "You don't have enough groceries to make xyz" or preventing me to eating whatever I want.

At the same time, shoot, this is 5 years later, why not a more real grocery experience?

The same with school. I liked the presence of a school. I wanted my sim to be a teacher, we can interact with stuff on the job, or I can control my child at school, or at least watch them.

I feel like its just a step backwards, but then in TS3 they were rabbitholes we couldn't see in and do anything with anyways. I still hope the pranks and stuff, joining after school clubs is still there. Maybe they can add in bake sales and PTA meetings.

Its just feeling like a dumbed down experience, like freaking rushed...I don't know how to feel. I been playing The Sims for wow, since TS1 and yes I do have worries about my favorite game being effed over like Simcity. EA don't give two craps about The Sims anymore.

Then they are being all secretive and not showing us anything when the game is to be out now in less than 2 months! 2 MONTHS! I follow a lot of games and shit, we get to see gameplay trailers, previews, in game pictures and have a lot more info about the game by then. We got more info on games due in 2015 than The Sims 4.

I have a lot of mixed feelings, too. I was so excited in the beginning. Things looked and sounded so awesome, then there were changes or "not really", and now too many things seem to be moving backward instead of forward. I also agree that it's past time for us to have seen a true gameplay trailer. I don't understand, really. As a fan who plays almost every day, it's frustrating and my excitement is sadly starting to wane. If TS4 is just going to be like TS2, then I'll save my money, dust off my TS2 games, and just play them.

For real. I did not wait 5 years so I can play a graphically improved version of The Sims 2 where the sims aren't ugly and look like deformed monkeys.

It is 2014 and there are a lot of games, well most games are being made in open world settings today. What game made today has rabbitholes? Most games of today have it where we can walk freely across the world and go in and out of buildings. Even basic flash games and 3DS games can do that that does not take up much memory, so why can't The Sims?

Part of me is just thinking they are withholding showing anything that is "real" until the laaaast week when people are just so happy to see anything, or so disappointed in what they see that they cannot make up their minds to not buy it, and still buy it in hopes they'd like it. It's obvious they are hiding the game.

Shoot...seems like a step back from The Sims 2. I do recall us going in stores to shop for clothing and my memory is very vague of this here but I thought there was a grocery store...

I was going to get the premium edition, but skip that now. Not spending $80 on some half ass game. The truth is that the developers didn't know the release date themselves until before E3 and they are crapping their pants, rushing the hell out of it.

Yes, Thesims2 had grocery stores and clothing stores , as well as videogame and magazine stands all in basegame.

I will probably not geting TS4 at release. I will have to wait to see how it does with EPs and CC*.

The more I read about these things, the more I'm starting to believe the rumor that they designed this game to be for online play and had to eighty-six the idea when they saw how bad SimCity's online play crashed and burned. While I can't wait to play the game, I can't wait to see what modders come up with to make it even better.

I don't care about rabbit holes / route off. I am fine with them but I prefer to have a realistic height such as teenagers to be shorter than adults heights and elders to be hunch plus toddlers in game, period.
