Interactive Careers!

I think an interesting twist that has yet to advance over the course of TS1, TS2, and 3 is the interaction between Sims and their Careers. I'd like it if in TS4 sims could work on projects at home, maybe interaction topics/activites unlocked based on the career choice. Another idea is if you were able to go inside and see the sim at work. Maybe even have the option of controlling how the sim spends the time, instead of fast forwarding time until they return home.

I think this is a high possibility with sims, gradually you can see it become more and more likely over the series, especially with TS3 Ambitions, I hope they put this in with TS4.

I hope so too... The few options we are given right now are too few... I'd like to have more control over them while they're working.. Like a lunch break, where they can actually get out of the job and go to a close restaurant without the decay on work...

They would have to adjust the time, otherwise the sims wouldn't have enough time for lunch.

Hope they do, because the whole 2 hour showers and 2 hours to cook a pancake is just too much x)

Speaking of which.. I want tasks to be more realistically timed... the only thing I find moderately realistic is sleeping.
Also, I would love to actually have full on interactivity with my sim at his/her job! Maybe I'll cause some chaos at the work place >:3

I'm all for interactive careers, and I have a feeling TS4 will bring us more of that.

I also would absolutely LOVE for tasks to take up a more realistic time frame, as stated above. Cooking a grilled cheese should take 5-10 minutes!

If they do have a more realistic time frame, they would also have to speed up/slow down certain actions or else showers and such would be done within seconds

Yes, that is exactly what we're talking about...times are so unrealistic, even when compared to each other (cooking taking longer than showers, etc)! So hopefully they adjust all of it.

I agree, the time is way out of proportion with everything else.

Well with each expansion pack they have been adding more and more interactive carears, just if you didn't notice.

Especially with Ambitions.

What would you want to be able to do in an interactive career?

I actually like that Sims go to work in TS3 and while the wormholes suck, being able to choose how my sim behaves at work is cool. I'd like to see a mix of that and the features from TS2 Open for Business. I like to be able to send my sim to work and maybe see what they do or simply buy a small community lot and open my own business for a more interactive experience.

I also really love being able to have a say in how my sim behaves at work and school. I am 100% on board with you as far as the OFB theme...I want to see it again!

I hope they bring it back I am so curious to what new things they would add to OFB.
