Sims 2 Ultimate Collection problem?

Keep in mind this is the first time I've actually [attempted to have] played Sims 2, so this might just be user error. But I'm not sure.

So today I decided it would be nice to actually sit down and play Sims 2 because, well, I have it. Good enough reason right there. But, as always, there is a problem. Whenever I click "New Neighborhood" (or whatever it says), I can't do anything. The little menu boxes are empty and all I can do is go back to the main menu. I can't actually go on to play the game. I'm assuming the worlds are supposed to show up, but apparently they didn't get the memo. Am I just doing something wrong or is it something else? D:

The Ultimate Collection is extremely buggy! Even if you were able to get into your game you wouldn't be able to save it anyways because that option is apparently not available. You're better off buying it or pirating it than using the Ultimate Collection.
