Yes, they did say that. You don't have to be logged in for Origin to be running, though. I tried shutting Origin down when my demo was playing and it wouldn't let me--said had to close the game first.

@ebuchala Try this. Get completely out of the demo and Origin. Then go to the game/bin folder and send a shortcut of the icon with the woman's face on it to your desktop. Go and double click that. Do not sign in when the Origin login window pops up. Just wait and see if the intro screens start, it might take a few but it was immediate for me.

I can't remember since I've removed the demo but when you click on the community icon in the demo, you are given the option then to sign in if you want.

Yea I remember something like that in the Gallery, when you try to access the public one it asks if you want to log in or stay offline. It may use Origins to run but it doesn't automatically connects to EA's servers, so you're kinda there without actually being so.

Ok, that's new. Must've been one of the updates they did. I had Origin already running and logged in in the back ground. Opened the game, pulled up my task manager and closed Origin and it simply told me some features wouldn't be available with Origin closed. When I tried to close Origin before, it literally would tell me I couldn't do that because CAS was running. It would let me log off but wouldn't let me shut down Origin.

I wonder if it has to do with them releasing the demo to everyone soon, supposedly. Perhaps they pushed through an update to get rid of that because they don't need the info anymore for the beta (if the beta is finished).

I was using the demo version that was given to my other account, so while it wasn't authorized to THIS one it was authorized. I wonder if the fact that it wasn't given to this account meant that it was also somehow cracked? Yeah, I'm confusing myself. I just know I didn't have to be logged into Origin to launch the demo.

@ebuchala Cool, so you were able to run it without Origin. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind, lol. I knew I didn't sign in because at first I forgot to do it and then the other times I just didn't want to. I hate Origin.

I was in the first wave with the beta release so maybe they changed it with one of the following groups that got it. It didn't seem like it had been that long ago since a few of us (including @burntcheese223 I thought) tested it and couldn't turn Origin to turn off without turning off the demo as well. But maybe it was longer than I thought.

I got it earlier! It wasn't this way, my boyfriend magically found it for me and we installed it within minutes, and it runs perfectly! I was crying! Haha, best boyfriend ever.
