The Sirène Family Story Pt 2

Part Two: A new face​

In part one of the story we left off with Jason bringing a new friend home to join the family for lunch; both Sandy and Alicia were not only surprised to see Jason with a girl, but they were also stunned by how beautiful she was, her hair long and nearly white, her eyes the brightest green eyes they had ever seen, and then there was the biggest question of all. Who was she? And where did she come from?
Alicia and Sandy were happy to have a new face in the house, they both politely slid their chairs over and made a space for Sirena to sit down. She slid into the stool right beside Alicia and in a very soft voice said Thank You. Jason couldn’t take his eyes off of her, he moved into the stool right beside Sirena; in one smooth move somehow managed to tilt the chair backwards, and in one fleeting moment of complete clutziness went toppling to the floor chair and all. He gazed up from the floor in embarrassment as Sirena giggled wildly at how cute Jason looked lying there on the floor pinned by the stool.
Lunch was really nice as Alicia, Sandy, Sirena, and Jason talked about some shells that they had found, an old crab that was snapping at them when they would go near him, some baby sea turtles that they saw come right up out of the sand and swim into the water, and then laughing at Sandy when she got knocked down by a big wave that caught her by surprise.
When they were done with lunch they went back out on the beach to play, Sandy and Alicia were building a Sand Castle and Jason asked Serena if she wanted to go exploring with him. So Jason and Serena went walking along the sand, crawling over rock outcroppings that jutted out of the beach like half buried beach balls, and chasing each other with old soggy seaweed that was washed up on the shore. As they walked along the beach Jason noticed that every so often just a few feet into the water there seemed to be a fish that would jump out of the water just long enough to see them and then disappear. Jason asked Serena if she saw the fish, but each time she would look the fish would be gone. Jason began telling her about the fish that he had seen on the beach earlier. He told her how the fish had gotten washed up by one of the waves and trapped in a small pond of water separated from the ocean. He told her how beautiful it was and how he felt so sorry for it that he made a little river so that the fish could get back to the ocean and swim away. She smiled at him with a bright and cheerful smile and told him how nice that was. Then he asked her if she thought the jumping fish could be the one that he helped. *To Be Continued*
