I snooped around the pre-loaded files using S4PE, found some interesting tidbits that'll surely tide me over until Tuesday.

Judging by what I had seen... Tuesday can NOT seem to figure out a way to arrive a lot faster. :(

Man I hope this preload holds up. I'm going to turn into a raging bear if I have to download again. Apparently my download speed is very slow and I am still downloading since last night. 8% to go. On the bright side the preload was an awesome idea, especially for those of us with slower internet.

It really is a good idea lol. Especially since you will have 3 days so if anyone has any trouble at all, like their internet going down for a day, then no need to worry.

It also helps with server congestion on day 1 from all the disc people still having to register their codes, on the gallery, and install.

LOL!!! I just knew that that there was a governor in the code!!! But I know I am not bright enough to find it without destroying something in the process. I can just see you hacking away it, coming from all angles, wedeling in hoping to crack it. Minutes turning into hours. Sweat dropping off your brow. And THEN?????!!!!!.......Did you get it to work?:D

If you don't mind me asking, where are you living (Country? Rural/Urban?) I have basically the slowest cable internet I am allowed to purchase (12 Mbps) and the game still downloaded within an hour. Unless you are running dial up or have an unfortunately poor DSL connection, I'd think the game would preload just fine prior to the launch time. --That said if you are on a strict data cap for whatever reason, then it makes no sense to download the game :p

I hate data caps. Mine has a 250 GB cap with my speed and when they sent me a letter about it, I put them on blast lol. I was pissed because I never heard of such a thing (cause I am in a different state).

And they were like oh noooo, we won't cut you off or anything. Shoot, I pay $60 a month for internet, hate it when these companies treat internet like a precious resource.

unfortunately I have to wait later until after the release to get my copy, money troubles and all. but it's cool because I need to see some reviews before I buy the game.

That sucks. It's the same, every time I get ahead, the car breaks down or something.

At times I wish I can go back to being a kid at times lol, with no worries, if something breaks down, oh well lol.

But yeah the advantage is if you can't buy it asap, you get to see the reviews and gameplay to really see if you like it.

Oh don't get me started on that. I had to spend my money for new text books and a phone (College bound tehe) and now I have to wait until november or even christmas until I get the game but oh well. At least i will get some reviews out of it

While internet itself is not a "limited" resource, bandwidth is. Data caps try to alleviate this problem indirectly by stopping users who use excessive amount of data (which in turn means they are using up more of the network's limited bandwidth for larger periods of time. Comcast and many others have a "soft cap" of 250GB. It really should never be an issue for people who aren't pirating movies/games en masse.

I understand why they do this, and it does make sense, but I wish they would come up with a more elegant solution to the problem, because, as you said, internet (itself) is not a limited resource. It's not like gas or electricity where once it's consumed, it's consumed. The second you stop using said bandwidth it becomes instantly available for someone else.

Lord, I got a textbook to buy and I can't be bothered buying it. I know I need it though. $44...I guess it isn't bad for a professional level textbook.

Hopefully you'll come into some extra money somehow if you end up liking the game and can get it. Maybe the lottery? :p

Yeah I use about 10 GB a day or more lol. I stream (netflix, watch "show name online" websites, not torrenting) all day since I do not have cable because cable is unnecessarily high, plus I can watch anything I want anytime. I can't justify an extra $45 on basic cable on a college student's salary.

But I never went past the cap yet, usually I always have about 30 GB left.

Yeah it sucks these days when its hard to get an internship that even pays. I remember before we were old enough to be college students, a paid internship was common. They may had paid little but at least you could somewhat survive.

I don't know how some students can get by these days with a full time unpaid internship and having another job to pay the bills.
